Why a stream needs a different clipper than a podcast
A podcast has one or two faces to follow. A stream has a small webcam, a game that moves constantly, overlays, a chat panel and sometimes a second person on a call. A generic auto clipper that crops around a face ends up showing a corner of the screen; one that shows the whole composite ends up with an unreadable strip. The stream clipper detects the webcam frame on the image itself and builds a two-panel layout from it, so the streamer stays readable and the game stays visible.
The moment selection also differs. On a stream, silence is not a pause to cut; it is often the play itself, so silence removal is switched off for the gaming layout. Does the stream clipper work live, during the stream?+
No. It clips from the recording, which is what most creators actually post from: the YouTube replay, the Twitch VOD or an exported file. Paste or upload it after the stream and select the segments you want.
How does it find the webcam on a gaming stream?+
It looks for a face pinned in a corner of the image and then measures the webcam's frame from the persistent edges around it, so the panel is cut on the real border rather than guessed from the face size. Without a webcam, the game is shown full width on a blurred background.
What if there is no commentary?+
Selection is transcript-led, so a silent gameplay recording gives it nothing to pick. Streams with continuous talk, reactions and stories clip well; for silent highlights, cut the moment manually and use ClipFlap for the vertical layout and captions.
Can it clip a stream with a guest on a call?+
Yes. When the second person is on screen and both are talking, the layout can switch to a stacked split screen; when the guest is a small window inside the stream, the webcam and the main panel are kept in the two-panel layout.
