Terms of use and sale

These terms govern the use of ClipFlap (clipflap.com), a service published by Voltero LLC, which turns long videos into short captioned clips. By creating an account, you accept them.

1. The service

ClipFlap analyses the videos you link (YouTube, Google Drive) or upload from your computer, detects their strongest moments and generates vertical captioned clips, each with a thumbnail, an indicative score and a caption. The result depends on the quality of the source; a job may complete partially (some clips rendered, others not).

2. Account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for the activity on your account. An account is personal and may not be shared between several organisations.

3. Free trial

The trial offers 10 minutes of processing, with no card required. Clips produced during the trial carry a discreet “clipflap.com” watermark and belong to you; the watermark disappears with your first subscription. One trial per person or organisation.

4. How minutes are counted

One minute of video costs one minute of your balance. The count is based on the duration actually processed: if you limit processing to a range, only that range is counted. The number of clips requested has no effect on the cost.

• The amount is known before you start the job, and does not change afterwards.
• If no clip is produced — failure, cancellation, no strong moment found — nothing is counted.
• As soon as at least one clip is produced, the processed duration is counted in full.

5. Subscriptions and quotas

• Subscriptions (Starter — $10/month excl. VAT or $99/year excl. VAT, 60 minutes of video per month; Pro — $20/month excl. VAT or $190/year excl. VAT, 150 minutes of video per month) grant a monthly quota of minutes of source video processed — not credits or packs. The plans in force and their prices are shown on the home page.
• The quota renews at each billing period; unused minutes do not carry over.
• Free minutes (referrals, goodwill gestures) are added to the current period.
• No commitment: cancel in one click, effective at the end of the current period.

6. Prices, billing and VAT

Prices are shown in US dollars (USD), excluding tax, and are charged in dollars whatever your country of residence. Voltero LLC is the seller of record; the VAT applicable in your European Union country is calculated at payment, operated by Stripe. VAT-registered businesses may provide an intra-community VAT number (checked through VIES) for the reverse charge. A PDF invoice is issued for every payment.

7. Withdrawal and refunds

If you are a consumer in the EU, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. By starting a job during that period, you request immediate performance of the service and waive the right of withdrawal for the minutes already consumed; the unused balance remains refundable during the 14 days.

Refund policy. Within 14 days of a payment, you can request from the Billing page a refund of the unused part of your period: the amount paid is refunded pro rata to the minutes remaining, to the original payment method, within 5 to 10 business days, and the subscription ends immediately. One request per subscription. Minutes already processed are not refundable in money. If a job fails entirely, its minutes are credited back to your balance automatically — that is not a money refund. After 14 days, you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current period.

Wallet. Funds you add to your wallet are prepaid credit in US dollars. Each job debits it per minute of source video, after your plan's minutes, at the rate shown when you submit the job; a later rate change never affects a running job. The balance does not expire and is not transferable. Spent credit is not refundable. An unspent balance is refundable on request to the original payment method; write to support@clipflap.com.

8. Your content, your clips

• You warrant that you hold the necessary rights over the videos you submit (your own content, your clients’ content with their permission, and so on).
• You use ClipFlap only on content provided or authorised by a campaign, a creator or a rights holder: your own shows, your clients’ projects, official clipping campaigns.
• You grant us a limited, worldwide and revocable licence, solely to host, transcribe, analyse and transform that content in order to provide the service. We publish nothing without an action from you, and we train no model on your content.
• The clips generated belong to you, commercial use included, with no watermark as soon as you are a subscriber (trial clips carry the “clipflap.com” mark).
• Media is purged automatically about 90 days after processing — download your clips before then.

9. Prohibited uses

The following are prohibited: submitting content you do not hold the rights to, unlawful content (hateful, child sexual abuse material, infringing, and so on), attempting to circumvent quotas, reselling the service, or disrupting its operation. We may suspend an account in case of manifest abuse, after notice except in an emergency.

Platform monetisation. YouTube may deem reused content without meaningful original value ineligible for monetisation — clips, compilations and similar reused formats are specifically reviewed — even when no copyright claim is received; TikTok’s Creator Rewards program likewise requires original content. Simply adding subtitles to somebody else’s podcast therefore does not necessarily qualify it for platform monetisation. This does not prevent an authorised campaign from paying the clipper directly. ClipFlap makes no guarantee of monetisation eligibility.

10. Availability

We aim for maximum availability, but the service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee of absolute continuity. Processing also depends on third-party services (video platforms, transcription) whose temporary unavailability is not attributable to us. If a job fails entirely, the minutes are automatically credited back.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with the service is capped at the amounts you have paid us over the last 12 months. Nothing here limits the mandatory rights of consumers.

12. Changes

We may change the service and these terms. In case of a substantial change, you will be informed by email at least 15 days before it takes effect; continuing to use the service counts as acceptance.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the state in which Voltero LLC is incorporated, without depriving European Union consumers of the mandatory protections of their country of residence or of the right to bring proceedings before their own courts. Before any dispute, write to us at support@clipflap.com — almost every disagreement is settled in a single exchange.
